Benefits and Potential of Affiliate Programs
You can build a great income promoting others' products/services by having a link to their website on your site and earning commissions on sales you generate. With affiliate programs you can sell any type of product and not worry about stocking anything, delivering anything, or taking orders, this is a very nice advantage.
Don't forget subaffiliate commissions. You can make even more when others who sign up as an affiliate under you make a sale. Corey Rudl's affiliate program pays pretty big subreferral fees. Let's say you join Corey Rudl's affiliate program and you have 20 subaffiliates and your subreferral fee is $20. If they make just one sale a month, that's $400 a month for you. Just imagine if you got yourself a super affiliate, those who are very good at it and make $1,000's in commissions a month. With the right guidance, your subaffiliates should be able to make at least one or two sales a month. I know if I can do it, probably anyone can.
Affiliate Advice
This is what I have learned so far. Slowly but surely I've been catching on to what really works. I want you to know what I've learned thus far, because if you become my subaffiliate, I want you to succeed!
Incorporate the products you're promoting as helpful resources into helpful, informational content on your site. Put it at the top of your site so your visitors will see it right away. Your site should be well related to your affiliate programs.
One thing you could do is write an article and put it on your site, it seems to be working for me. I think there are two basic steps here. The first is what you do with your affiliate link, whether you include it in an article with your recommendation or just a link with a short description, or whatever. The second, how well you market it, is it at the top of your site or is it out of sight, etc.
One very important element in success with the first is preselling. This includes building trust, trust in you and trust in the merchant, credibility, information, recommendation, etc. Pick good affiliate programs, with high-quality products which are highly endorsed by others, especially other marketing/business/internet experts.
Buying the product you're selling and giving a personal recommendation or review can prove very benefitial, you'll get much better results.
Experiment. If you're not getting any results, it's time to try something different. That's what I've been doing. I keep trying different techniques, different ways of promoting an affiliate program to see what works best. I've gone from getting hardly any sales at all, to getting 1 or 2 a month. I'm not giving up until I have the same success as those super affiliates, who make thousands a month.
One way to experiment is to keep changing your site until you get the results you want. For example, find better ways to promote your affiliate program, change a simple link to a descriptive paragraph with a link, change the paragraph to a couple of informative paragraphs, change that into an educational article with reference to the product you're promoting, get the product you're promoting and include a link to your personal review and recommendation.
One good experimental tool is a startpage program called StartPage ads. This traffic-generating program is great for testing ads. This is how it works: When you open your browser someone will see your ad, when you choose to surf on that start page by simply clicking "click here" under the 1-2 small ads, someone will see your ad (not right away though but later in the day). On your stats page, you can see how many times your ad has been clicked on. You can also reset your ad statistics. Keep in mind though that with this program you're dealing with people who will mostly be interested in online promotion, pay programs, and traffic programs, but it's free and still can be useful. Click here to join StartPageAds.
I've got one more tip (although there may be more in the future). I searched a bit on Google for a few keywords related to my affiliate programs and I believe I found some super affiliates or at least something close. I was amazed at how well they were promoting their affiliate program. I think it helps to look at what other affiliates that may very likely be successful are doing. You could get some good ideas. I've seen sites that would make for great examples of how to market affiliate progrms, such as a site called Friends In Business (www.friendsinbusiness.com/market/index.shtml). I was blown away, I felt like buying what they were promoting. I also gained a little more info about that particlular product, which I happen to promote as well.
Although you can get some great ideas from other affiliates, you shouldn't copy cat them. Market your affiliate programs your own special, origional way! Top

Affiliate Programs
Get paid 50% commissions on easy to sell products. You can make $13.50 a sale to $48.50. I've been a scamfree affiliate since July 2000 and I'm never leavin'! So far the only thing I've generated a sale for are ScamFreeZone products, probably because I've promoted it a little better and can give my personal recommendation. I've been doing a little better promoting this one, if I can make sales, you can too, believe me. The one item I've sold the most of is the Internet Success Blueprint, I bought it and gave a personal review and recommendation. Believe me, that helps a LOT. Here's a tip, and it works. Put a link to the ScamFreeZone forum at the top of your site, say a few good things about it (which are true). I also like to put a link at the top of my site to a page about Neil Shearing so people can read about who he is and his products. I've found that when I moved these links lower on the page out of visibility, I would seldomly get a sale if at all, when I moved it back up to the top, I got back to the higher number of sales.
Corey Rudl, they guy behind the Internet Marketing Center products says that his products sell very well and he pays huge, I mean, HUGE commissions, I'm talkin' from 35 bucks to 200! Your subreferral fees are pretty generous too, the biggest subreferral fees I've ever seen.
Ken Evoy sells several Make Your ____Sell products and Site Build It!, one of the best I think(but expensive, although a reasonable price for such a package). I can't find out what the percentage of the commissions are, although I probably heard what it was somewhere, probably like 25%. You should promote the Site Build It software, it sounds AWESOM from what I've read about it(I'd like to try it myself), it sells for a little under 300 dollars. So, let's see, what's 25% of 300.....I'm terrible at math but I'll try....$75 right? Sounds good to me, that's only one product. The other products are cheaper, the electronic version of Make Your Site Sell is only $16.23, Make Your Words Sell is online $19, Make Your Price Sell is $63, etc.
Active Market Place Active Market Place with Declan Dunn and Michael Campbell sells several books. and other products Note: You only need to sign up once, to promote another product, just use the affiliate ID you have been assigned, they have a box for you to enter it into to go to the codes page
The electronic version of his book is $38 and the printed version is $68 not including shipping.
They are a highly recommended company offering services such as webhosting, domain hosting, site building services, etc. Who's recommending them? As far as I know, Corey Rudl, Neil Shearing (ScamFreeZone) and Jim Daniels recommend Virtualis. Other marketing experts may too, I don't know. Top
1. Link Disguise Code
I finally discovered how those professionals make links look nice (the link that may be seen in a mouse over or at the bottom of the screen), simply replace the internet marketing parts with whatever you like. There are 4 parts to this code:
1. the link
<a href="http://www.marketingtips.com/t.cgi/xxxxxx/"
2. mouse over text (in the below code, it is blank so there is no mouse over text)
target="_blank" onMouseOver=
3. what appears on the window status screen at the bottom (the "®" is code for that little R symbol)
"window.status='Internet Marketing Center®'return true" onMouseOut="window.status=''">
4. text of the link
>Internet Marketing Center®</a>
Here is the code all together
<a href="http://www.marketingtips.com/t.cgi/645190/" target="_blank" onMouseOver="window.status='Internet Marketing Center®'; return true" onMouseOut="window.status=''">Internet Marketing Center®</a>
Here is what the link looks like, you'll notice that when you move your mouse over the link, you'll just see "Internet Marketing Center" with the little reg symbol, cool huh!
2. Redirect Pages
I just learned this technique. It's very easy. You simply put in a code on a page that redirects to the merchant's site. Just copy and paste the following code into a new page or site and replace "your affiliate url" with the one you want to redirect to. |
