Online Business Suggestions

The most profitable online business is selling ebooks.  There are many benefits to creating and selling information online.  One of the biggest benefits is not having to stock and restock anything.  You make it once and sell it again and again so you're getting 100% profit.   Because the internet is where people go to find information, it is the best selling thing online.  For more details on the benefits of selling information online, click here.

One great example of success is Neil Shearing, founder of the Scam Free Zone.  He started his own profitable business writing and selling ebooks and software. One of those successful ebooks, the Internet Success Blueprint, details how you can start a business by creating and selling your own ebook.  If you are interested in this type of business, I highly recommend Neil's Internet Success Blueprint, I found it to be a very good resource for beginners wanting to sell information online.  For more information see my review or view the table of contents.

If you want to sell directly to people but you don't have a product, you can buy resale rights to something and simply sell it yourself and keep all the profits.  To sell anything yourself, you'll need either a merchant account or you'll need to find a third party processor.  A third party processor is ideal for beginners, you only pay them a percentage of each sale you make, so you don't have to pay anything out of your own pocket (one thing which I learned from Neil's Blueprint).

The downside to getting resale rights is if they are not expensive, then they may not be worth getting. You should get resale rights for a product that is worth the money, if the resale rights are cheap, it may not be worth selling, however, there are exceptions.  Some may either not realize the value of resale rights or they do and just don't mind selling it for cheaper in order to get more sales.  I'd want to get resale rights to Neil's Internet Success Blueprint, but the price is a bit too much for me, like around $1,000.

You don't have to have a product to make money on the internet.   You can build a good online income by promoting other's products/services by having a referral link to their website on your site and earning commissions on sales you generate.  With affiliate programs you can sell any type of product and not worry about stocking anything, delivering anything, or taking orders, this is a very nice advantage.  A few things I've learned about affiliate success are:

1) Promote good, quality products, something you would be proud to sell.

2) Traditional banners are ineffective, people usually find them annoying and just ignore them.  Instead, write about the item or service you are promoting, integrate it into the content of your site and put a text link to it.

3) If you can afford it, buy the product you're promoting and give a personal review.  It is a good idea to know what you're promoting and to see if you really would recommend it.  For more affiliate advice, click here.

Don't forget subaffiliate commissions.  You can make even more when others who sign up as an affiliate under you make a sale.  Corey Rudl's affiliate program pays pretty big subreferral fees.  Let's say you join Corey Rudl's affiliate program and you have 20 subaffiliates and your subreferral fee is $20.  If they make just one sale a month, that's $400 a month for you.  Just imagine if you got yourself a super affiliate, those who are very good at it and make $1,000's in commissions a month. With the right guidance, your subaffiliates should be able to make at least one or two sales a month. I know if I can do it, probably anyone can.

If you'd like to give this affiliate program thing a try, you can check out my new site, Best Associate Programs, listing some of the best affiliate programs which you can earn serious money on plus tips and advice to help you succeed.  I recommend this for building a good and successful affiliate website.

Those are the options I'd consider in starting a business.  You may want to discuss this further with an expert, I'd recommend visiting Neil Shearing's ScamFreeZone Forum (it's been moved to a private site which includes other tools/features to help you start and grow your business).
