Basics of Search Engine Traffic

I've come to realize through my own personal experience how to get noticed in the search engines.   Basically what you need is a content rich site, the more content the better.  You need lots of good keywords, related keywords.  How much traffic you get depends on how popular the keywords are and your competition.

The popularity of a keyword is a doubled edged sword, on one hand you are likely to get more traffic by using it, but on the other there are many sites using that same keyword and other sites will get most of the traffic for it.  It's this content and keyword stuff that really makes all the difference (if you don't do anything else to increase traffic anyway) when it comes to getting substantial traffic to your website.  All these factors: 1) Content 2) Keywords 3) Keyword popularity 4) Competition & 5) Link popularity play an important role in promoting your site.  Sometimes even after taking all that into consideration you don't get very good traffic.

My health site, Whole Health gets the best traffic, around 100 a day.  I have several good content rich pages, the most popular page right now is recipe reviews.  Before it was advice.  Traffic seems to change depending on what I percieve as trends in popularity of a particular subject.  This is also my biggest site and I'm sure it will continue to grow.  My Fun Online site used to be on top with over 100 visits a day now it's averaging 70.  I didn't change a thing.  My fun online site was pretty small and diverse.  It was somewhat of an exception to the aformentioned factors.  Apparently I had enough very very popular keywords (celebrity soundboards was a very popular keyword) on that site to outweigh any shortfalls.

Another reason traffic may change is your ranking could go down.  New sites may be added to search engines all the time, so your competition increases.  The pool of sites becomes more diluted and it will be harder for your site to get noticed.  You've got to keep up with the competition.

The way to do this is to know what keywords are most popular and profitable.  You need a good site and reliable web hosting (free websites really don't cut it, especially for a business.  Have you noticed free websites are always down and they're littered with tacky, ugly ads everywhere). You need to optimize your site to make it search engine friendly.  You may also need to resubmit your site from time to time.

There is an all-in-one software called site build it that Ken Evoy developed that can simplify all these tasks for you, it allows you to build an optimized site and has very valuable reports including keyword reports (shows keywords related to your topic, their popularity, their demand, supply, etc.). You also get the best web hosting available and it professionally promotes your site and on a continual basis.  With all of these tasks simplified it leaves you free to work solely on your site's content.

This software would be extremely advantageous and give you a definite edge over your competition.  You can even check out the statistics of site build it users at their site.  It seems like they're always adding some new tool or feature that businesses or webmasters use.  It would cost more if you got all of these services individually from other companies (also explained at their site).  If you want to start a serious business on the internet I strongly recommend this software as it has many of the things you will need and at a lower cost.  If interested and want to learn more, click here.

Another thing you can do to increase your rank in search engines is to develope link popularity.  The more sites there are linking to you, the higher your link popularity.  The more popular the sites are that are linking to you, the higher your link popularity.

I honestly can't imagine searching the internet for the right sites and trying to get them to link to me. Knowing if a site even meets the standards you need to push you up in the ranking can be a daunting, if even possible, task.

There is, however, yet another software that can help you.  It's the internet success spider by Neil Shearing.  This software is pretty cool. What it does is track down super affiliates, these are people  that are very very good at promoting their affiliate programs, the top dogs who make thousands of dollars in commissions.

These people have good link popularity and having them link to you will most certainly help your own link popularity and give you yet another advantage.  These super affiliates often times generate a very large percentage of sales and so can be a tremendous help to your business.

I should also mention that using this software can help you start selling your product or service in just a day instead of waiting God knows how long to make it in the search engines.  Also, the convincing them to link to you part is also covered with an "email forumula".

I found this quote about the spider software on his forum before it was moved to a private site, (click here if you want to subscribe):

"When I first put up my website my ranking was 2.6 million plus on Alexa! Well 4 months later after using Internet Success Spider my ranking went from 2.6 million to 129,000.00 Internet Success Spider has helped me find key websites that get allot of action so what I have done is write the webmasters of high action websites and do a link exchange. In my business people on the Internet have allot of money to market but a small guy like me has very little. However with programs like Internet Success Spider a little guy like me as allot better chance of making it on the Internet. Thanks, Neal"
